Ensure that you are compliant with customs regulations and paying the proper rate of duty on your imported products. Proper tariff classification is the basic foundation for all customs transactions, including qualification for the U.S., Mexico, Canada Free Trade Agreement (USMCA). Correct classification of your products is essential for determining the appropriate duties and remaining fully in compliance with all Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Regulations). The Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) provides duty rates for virtually every item that exists, and is harmonized to at least the 6-digit level almost across the globe.

Forward looking supply chain strategies are the topics, with a focus on practical applications, beyond theory. Participants have the opportunity to learn from 20-25 peer participants in addition to speaker/instructors. Program is participatory. Effective July 1, 2020, the USMCA trade agreement officially replaced NAFTA as the trilateral free trade agreement between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Whether the manufacturer of importer is located in the U.S. (USMCA), Canada (CUSMA), or Mexico (T-MEC), the automotive industry as a whole has been significantly affected by dramatic rule changes, including an increase in overall value content requirements, the introduction of the Labor Value Content (LVC) requirements, and new categories and requirements for the qualification of automotive parts. The new USMCA Content Reporting course - developed by OEM, supplier, and free trade agreement experts - is an in-depth, comprehensive training geared toward automotive trade compliance practitioners and working managers. The training is scheduled for two consecutive days (16 hours total).

The USMCA went into force on July 1, 2020, and replaced NAFTA as the trilateral free trade agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Significant changes to rules of origin affecting the automotive industry were implemented, including increases in regional value content (RVC) requirements, the introduction of a new labor value content (LVC) requirement and establishment of new auto part categories and requirements. As industry adjusts to the new requirements, many vehicle producers and suppliers are working together to gather information to support calculations, increase qualifying content, and become audit-ready.
