As the automotive industry moves toward a more circular economy, OEMs and Suppliers have the opportunity to reduce reliance on landfill by critically reviewing less recyclable material usage in shipping aids.
AIAG’s Waste Management workgroup is committed to minimizing waste. Our goal is to create awareness and education around recycling/circular economy rules and/or regulations. We will collaborate with other stakeholders on challenges, regulation impacts and share best practices.
Some of the topics we are looking at are:
- Reduction of single use plastics
- Increase recycling/reuse aids
- Move towards 100% recyclable packaging
- Minimize high impact waste streams
- Scope 3, category 5 impacts
- Zero Waste
