Finished Vehicle Logistics

The purpose and focus of AIAG’s Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) division has always revolved around creating ways to share best practices to help reduce costs and improve finished vehicle supply chain management processes for OEMs and their service providers. This has been accomplished through the collective and continued support of OEM volunteers, along with AIAG members from rail, truck, and ocean carriers, custom brokers, and terminal operating organizations.

Since the development of this division, significant strides have been made in improving processes while reducing complexities in the FVL supply chain. With continued efforts to improve processes for current and ongoing challenges in the FVL space, AIAG work groups have released three critical publications:

Finished Vehicle Logistics North American Transportation Scorecard Work Group

The N.A. Transportation SCORECARD group, made up of vehicle logistic OEM’s, is working to create an industry ‘standard’ scorecard for measuring the performance of transportation providers. The team is working together to identify those specific KPI’s that directly impact transportation performance and delivery to the dealers and are of importance to all OEM's and available to both the OEM's & their carriers. Once the “Master” Scorecard is completed, the team will then determine the 'vehicle' with which to make the document available to the industry (publication, portal, etc).
